What it costs, before you ask

Almost every studio in this field makes you book a call to find out whether you can afford them. Here are the numbers.

Projects start at $3,000 for a 30-second piece, and $5,000 for the 60–90 second animation most projects need — delivered in 4–6 weeks from approved script, or two to three weeks for shorter work built from material you already have. The tier depends on how much scientific work sits behind the animation, not on runtime alone — which is why a short molecular piece can cost more than a longer device one.

Every tier is a “from” price, set at the shorter end of its runtime. A 90-second animation costs more than a 60-second one in the same tier — the per-minute rate falls as runtime grows, because the science and storyboard cost the same either way. The exact number is in the written scope you get back.
